Well, let’s see if I can persuade you otherwise Experts have found that it is still too late to make New Year's resolutions, with only about one-third of Americans actually creating New Year’s resolutions, according to the Pew Research Center. Researchers found that 24% of those ages 50 to 64 develop New Year. Only 18% of 65 or older adults also create New Years' resolutions. Young adults are more likely to make such resolutions than older adults, focusing on health and financial goals. Successful resolutions can be achieved by keeping a list small and manageable, rather than SMART (specific, measurable, assignable, realistic and time bound) for goal setting later life. Goals and resolutions can enhance autonomy and maintain independence in life, and are often significant boosts to finding purpose and meaning in life.
