Bigger Storm Brewing
Northern Utah will see a couple of weak storms early this week before a stronger and wetter system potentially moves across the state heading into the weekend. The first storm of the week is expected to occur Monday night in northern Utah, bringing a brief round of valley rain and mountain snow. Most northern valleys are expected to receive less than a tenth of an inch of rain, with snow levels expected to fall to around 6,500 feet near the Idaho border, allowing some light snow to accumulate in the higher mountains. Another weak storm is expected Tuesday night, bringing another chance for light rain and snow. A stronger Pacific storm could bring significant moisture into the region, potentially setting up widespread rain and mountainsfall between Friday and the weekend. There is still uncertainty about when the storm will arrive, with some models suggesting it could arrive as early as Friday or Saturday.
