Fairpark rezone pitch would add townhomes at current LDS Church site - Building Salt Lake
A proposal to rezone an LDS Church building in Fairpark to RMF-35 could yield around 88 townhomes for rent in Salt Lake City. A new rezone proposal has been filed to add 88 townhome units to a former church building at 660 N. Redwood Road, which is currently owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). The site is in the process of being sold to Garbett Realty for $5 million, but the deal has not yet been finalised as the LDS Church still owns the site. The proposed rezone would change the current Institutional (I) to RMF-35, which aims to allow moderate scale infill and transition between low-density neighborhoods and more intense areas. The project's community benefits would include adding family-sized units, with 31 three-bedroom units planned for development. The rezone is still pending, which could allow for height allowances up to six stories.
