CLOSURES: State Street in SLC to be repaved — here’s what to expect
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Utah Department of Transportation is advising Utahns of upcoming closures associated with a repaving project on State Street in Salt Lake City.
On Monday, UDOT posted on social media and said crews are beginning to repave State Street from 3000 South to 400 South.

“Most milling and paving will occur from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.,” UDOT said on social media. “Expect lane and side street closures, on-street parking restrictions, and uneven pavement.”
According to UDOT, the first segment of the repaving is expected to last about two weeks.
The first segment of the project begins the week of June 10 and will extend from 3000 South to 1700 South. After the first segment is complete, the next portion will extend from 1700 South to 400 South.
“Nighttime milling and paving is anticipated to begin mid to late-June and take approximately two-weeks to complete,” UDOT said of the second segment.
Most work is expected to take place overnight Tuesday through Sunday, but UDOT said some daytime work is possible.
“While nighttime work is underway, State Street may be restricted down to one lane in each direction,” UDOT said. “Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone and plan for minor delays.”
Drivers have also been told to expect lane closures during the day. Motorcyclists are being warned to use caution and watch for uneven surfaces.
On-street parking is also going to be restricted, and UDOT has warned that any vehicles that are parked in the shoulder may be towed. Business accesses and side streets are expected to remain open unless equipment is passing.
“When milling and paving operations occur at the I-80 interchange, a full closure of the on and off-ramps may be required during overnight hours,” UDOT said.
More details are available on the UDOT input website. UDOT has urged Utahns to call 385-509-2035 or email [email protected] for more information.
