United Way of Salt Lake’s work in Davis County has huge impact on children and families
During Read Across America Day 2026 United Way of Salt Lake provided 329 books to stock the book vending machines at Wasatch and Bountiful Elementary School. United Way of Salt Lake has a significant impact on children and families in Davis County, Utah. The goal is to support education and basic needs for 100 percent of Utah's children and to help families thrive. The organization operates in three other counties: Davis, Summit and Tooele. Its programs include Promise Baby & You in Davis School District (DSD), a nine-week workshop that teaches parents and caregivers of children ages 0 to 3, and Read Across America in which early literacy is an important part of improving kindergarten readiness and long-term outcomes. Volunteers are required to participate in these programs.
