The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Juan Becerra, the government and community relations manager for the event, has been meeting with community councils to explain the church's transportation plans for the massive event. The Salt Lake temple open house will run from April 5, 2027, through Oct. 1, 20 27. The church is encouraging visitors to travel from outside of the city to use public transportation or park at a lot near North Temple and Redwood Road. Smith Entertainment Group, in conjunction with Salt Lake city and Salt Lake County, has released new renderings for a “sports, entertainment, culture and convention” district near the Delta Center. Initial construction is expected to begin as early as February 2027 and could lead to additional downtown road closures. Transportation officials are preparing residents and visitors for changes due to other projects in the area.
