United Lands Most Of The Final Gates At Delta’s Salt Lake City Fortress As $5.1B Rebuild Ends

The airport has closed the book on a 12-year rebuild. Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in Utah has completed a 12-year construction and redevelopment project worth over $5 billion, with the final section of Concourse B East opening. The majority of the new gates are set to be used by United Airlines, despite Delta Air Lines being SLC's top user. The project involved tens of thousands of workers dedicating tens of millions of hours of work over a 12 year period. The expansion will add 132,000 square feet of real estate to the growing airport, with six concessions set to include Einstein Bros. Bagels, Monarca, and Swig. While United Airlines has received five of the seven new gates, five will be reserved for use by Delta.
