For those who lose a loved one to cancer, grief does not follow a set timeline. One Utah woman and a clinical psychologist share how support, remembrance and action can help people navigate life after loss. October marks breast cancer awareness, a reminder of the lives of those touched by the disease. Christa McGraw lost three friends, Kelly, Amber and Beth, to breast cancer. Clinical psychologist Timothy Fowles said that while grief does not completely disappear, it can transform, acknowledging what has been lost while learning how to build a life around it. McGraw believes that keeping their memory alive is a crucial part of the healing process.
