Though many doubted, Utah football answered the call in first major test of season
It's safe to say the Utah football team was made very well aware of the comments made against the team, doubting their ability to compete with Houston. Utah football won 21-13 against Houston in the first major test of the season, despite many doubting their ability to compete with Houston. Quarterback Devon Dampier led with two touchdowns, 150 rushing yards, and 204 passing yards. Despite being undefeated, Utah's defense limited Houston to 13 points, 86 rushing yards and several empty trips inside the red zone. The win over Houston was seen as a valuable test and put pressure on Utah, but not enough to secure a top-15 spot. ESPN personality Pat McAfee delivered his selection as part of the ESPN"College GameDay" visit to Salt Lake City.
